Eric Holt-Giménez is the executive director of Food First/Institute for Food and Development Policy in Oakland. He has also worked as a lecturer in international development and agroecology at the University of California and Boston University. For three decades, Eric helped organize and train farm leaders and was a consultant in agroecology in Latin America. His books include Campesino a Campesino and Food Rebellions! Crisis and the Hunger for Justice (co-authored with Raj Patel and Annie Shattuck).
Jack Kloppenburg is a professor of rural sociology at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. His groundbreaking book first published in 1988, entitled First The Seed, was revised and reissued in 2004. He continues to do research on the global access to and control over genetic resources, and he publishes widely on in the area of food, culture and society.
