Walden Bello is a professor at the University of the Philippines at Diliman, a fellow at the Transnational Institute, executive director of Focus on the Global South and a recently elected Member of Parliament in the Philippines He is the author of numerous books including The Food Wars, Dilemmas of Domination, The Anti-Development State and Deglobalisation. Walden has been on the front lines of activism and research on globalization and transnational peasant movements for the last three decades. In 2003 he received the Right Livelihood Award, also known as the Alternative Nobel Prize, "for outstanding efforts in educating civil society about the effects of corporate globalization, and how alternatives to it can be implemented." |
